A cyclist has died following a crash with a van near Harrogate.
It happened on the B6165 near Burnt Yates on Tuesday (20th August) at around 6:10pm.
The cyclist, a man in his 60’s, collided with a blue Transit van driven by a man in his thirties.
The road was closed for several hours whilst emergency services responded.
A police spokesperson said:
“Our thanks go to members of the public who stopped to assist at the scene.
"The cyclist, a local man in his sixties was taken to Leeds General Infirmary but sadly was pronounced deceased."
The driver of the van was arrested and released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
