Harrogate’s Floral Summer of Celebration brought 'thousands' to the Harrogate area, according to Harrogate BID.
The BID team commissioned 10 dazzling displays around the town centre with the theme of ‘friendship’ to coincide with the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) 60th anniversary.
From Floral Arches of Bloom and a Heart of Flowers, to a Botanical Garden and a Flower Family, every installation had its own exclusive back story and meaning.
And the Business Improvement District (BID) said it has received “plenty of positive feedback” on this year’s trail, with both visitors and residents enjoying the floral-themed fun.
Figures from the data firm HUQ show that more than 585,000 visitors passed through the BID area from July 19th to August 2nd, the two-week period the Floral Summer of Celebration was held on.
The promotion of the event on social media was also a success, with the official video receiving more than 32,000 impressions and reaching over 21,800 users on Facebook.
The BID is hoping to claim another victory in the Yorkshire in Bloom awards, with winners set to be revealed during a ceremony in September.
The In Bloom judges were in attendance on the launch day of the celebration.
The Floral Summer of Celebration is held every year to not only highlight Harrogate’s floral heritage, but also promote the town as a must-visit destination over the summer.
The event is held annually in addition to the BID’s work to maintain Harrogate’s floral offering, which includes planters in doorways, over 200 barrier baskets and much more.
