A well-known artisan bakery chain has declined to comment on reports it's preparing to open in Harrogate - its first location in Yorkshire.
Gail's, which began in London in the early 1990s as a supplier to restaurants before expanding into neighbourhood bakery cafés, is widely understood to be targeting Harrogate as part of its continued growth beyond the capital.
When approached, a spokesperson said the company was unable to provide further details at this stage.
Speculation about a Harrogate site has intensified over the past week following the appearance of job listings referencing a 'new Yorkshire location'.
While previous reports had suggested nearby Knaresborough could be in line for an opening, the latest listings appear to point more directly towards Harrogate.

The company is known for traditional baking methods, focusing on handmade products and longer fermentation processes.
Its range typically includes sourdough loaves, baguettes and pastries, alongside sweet items such as buns and cookies, as well as drinks.
In recent years, Gail’s has expanded steadily outside London, with a growing presence in the North West, including multiple sites across Greater Manchester. However, it has yet to establish a branch in Yorkshire.
If confirmed, a Harrogate opening would mark the brand’s first move into the county.
