Police have arrested a man following a 'stand-off' in Knaresborough earlier today.
Officers were called to a residential address in Marbled White Place just after 8am.
A stand-off lasting several hours ensued after a man refused to leave or allow a woman to leave the property.
Following negotiations, the man who is in his 40’s, has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and has been taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains under close police supervision.
A police spokesperson said:
“Officers are emphasising that the incident has now concluded and is being treated as isolated.
“There has been a police presence in the area to deal with the incident and Neighbourhood Policing Team officers will be on patrol to provide continued support to the local community this evening."
