Ripon is set to celebrate the autumn season with a pop-up pumpkin patch in Market Square later this month.
The free two-day event, organised by Ripon BID, will take place on Thursday 30th and Friday 31st October from 10am–2pm and is designed to offer families a seasonal day out in the city centre.
The pumpkin patch forms part of a wider programme of Halloween activities in Ripon.
A pumpkin trail will begin on Saturday 25th October, where visitors can collect trail sheets from participating businesses and search for hidden pumpkins in shop windows across the city.
Completing the trail will give families exclusive access to the pumpkin patch, where children can pick up a free pumpkin to carve or decorate. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Other attractions will include a meet-and-greet with Ripon’s resident Scarecrow and a themed photo board for families to enjoy. Organisers say the event offers a “wholesome, screen-free activity” suitable for both children and adults.
The pop-up pumpkin patch coincides with the Ripon BID Halloween Window Competition, which sees businesses transform their shopfronts with spooky decorations.
Visitors can vote for their favourite display by scanning a QR code in participating shops. The winning business will receive a full-page advert in Review Ripon, while voters will also be entered into a prize draw to win vouchers for local businesses.
More details, including a list of participating businesses, can be found at www.visitripon.co.uk/news.
