Two people are in custody after police executed simultaneous drugs warrants in Knaresborough yesterday (Tuesday).
Officers from the Harrogate Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team, assisted by Response colleagues and our Operational Support Unit, carried out the warrants at separate addresses under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A man in his 20’s was arrested at one property on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
A woman in her 40’s was arrested at the other property on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.
Both of them were taken into custody, where they remain at this time.
A quantity of suspected illegal drugs - as well as drugs paraphernalia, phones and a large quantity of cash - were seized.
Sgt Sam Johnson, of Harrogate Outer NPT, said:
"We have a clear zero-tolerance approach to drug dealing in our area.
“The supply of illegal drugs has a significant and damaging impact on local communities, contributing to violence, exploitation, and wider antisocial behaviour.
“Any individuals found to be involved can expect robust and decisive action."
PC Ross Hudson added:
“Today’s warrants show that we will act on information, work with our partners, and use every power available to disrupt those who seek to profit from vulnerable people.
“We encourage anyone with concerns to report them so we can continue to protect our neighbourhoods.”
Anyone with information about illegal activity related to drugs is encouraged to report it to North Yorkshire Police via the force website, 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
