A popular Knaresborough choir is celebrating a double competition win at the Mrs Sunderland Music Festival.
After a series of successful concerts, Knaresborough’s Knot Another Choir headed to Huddersfield on Saturday (21st February) to compete in the renowned competition.
The Mrs Sunderland festival (named after the famous Victorian Soprano) is one of the UK’s largest, longest running competitive music, speech and drama festivals.
Knot Another Choir was entered into two classes, Community Choir and Adult Mixed Voice, competing against choirs from across Yorkshire and as far afield as Peterborough.

Under the leadership of Musical Director Craig Lees and pianist Stefan Wardle, the choir placed first in both categories with feedback reflecting the “outstanding” classification received.
Julie Bradbury-Sharp, Trustee said:
“We’re over the moon to have won not just one trophy but two today. It’s testament to the hard work of everyone in the choir.”
Knot Another Choir is a large, mixed community choir based in Knaresborough counting over 100 members ranging in age from teens to 80 somethings.
The choir is non-auditioned (open to all) and performs regularly in and around Knaresborough and Harrogate.
