Conservative Club to fully fund Starbeck Christmas lights

Starbeck Conservative Club has announced it will cover the full cost of this year's Starbeck Christmas lights.

The committee of Starbeck Conservative Club said it had decided to fund this year's festive display.

The club said it recognises the role it plays in the local community and acknowledged that some community events and initiatives can struggle to raise enough money to meet their costs.

A spokesperson for the club said:

“It is with great pleasure that the committee of the club has decided that this year we will fully cover the costs of Starbeck’s Christmas lights to enable this event to continue.

“We will hold a couple of events throughout the next 12 months to raise more funds to enable the continuity of the lights and ‘maybe’ some lights across The Avenue.

“Let’s hope the community of Starbeck continues to support this worthy cause.”

The Starbeck Christmas Lights Appeal Group thanked the Club for its contribution.

They said:

"We are absolutely delighted by this news and look forward to working with the Cons Club."

Further details about upcoming fundraising events are expected to be shared in the coming weeks.
