A long-standing community venue in Starbeck is marking its 125th anniversary.
The Forest Club, a working men’s club based in Starbeck, is hosting a series of events to commemorate the milestone.
The programme includes themed evenings, entertainment and family-friendly activities designed to bring members together.
Jan Johnson, Secretary at The Forest Club, said:
“We have a whole week of celebrations here for our members with discounts on drinks during the week, a big quiz on Wednesday, a curry night on Thursday and bigger bingo with a special games night afterwards on Friday.
“The week finishes off on Saturday with a children’s party on the afternoon and great party night with the Railroaders and discounted cocktails in evening.”
The celebrations are taking place at the club’s premises in Starbeck and are open to members throughout the week.
Organisers say the anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on the club’s history and continued role within the local community.
Founded in 1901, The Forest Club has served generations of residents in the area, providing a social space for events, entertainment and community gatherings.
