Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Tom Gordon completed the London Marathon yesterday (Sunday) in aid of two local charities.
It’s the second marathon Tom has completed in just two weeks after running Paris Marathon earlier this month.
Tom has been fundraising in aid of Open Country and Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity.
He completed London Marathon in a time of 4 hours and 30 minutes, knocking 21 minutes off his time at Paris Marathon just a few weeks ago.
And so far Tom has raised £1,735 to be split between the two charities.
He said:
“It has been incredible to run two marathons in two weeks in support of Open Country and Harrogate Hospital Community Charity.
“Harrogate and Knaresborough have so many fantastic charities, many of which I’ve had the privilege of visiting since being elected.
“I am pleased to have shown my support by taking on this challenge.
“I am very grateful to everyone who has donated or sent messages of encouragement – and there’s still time for anyone who’d like to contribute.”
This isn’t Tom’s first fundraising effort; he previously ran the Great North Run in both 2023 and 2024 to raise money for Saint Michael’s Hospice.
He plans to continue supporting local charities through future fundraising and engagement.
