A new express train is set to whisk families around Harrogate's Valley Gardens this half term.
The Harrogate Express Land Train will start taking passengers at 12pm today (Friday) and will run throughout the gardens until Sunday 2nd June.
It will start at the children’s play area within the park and will also pick up at the main entrance to Valley Gardens near the Pump Room Museum.
The 50-seater train costs £3.50 per person (card only) and will take passengers on a 20-minute loop of the gardens.
It has been commissioned by North Yorkshire Council and will be run by Crow Leisure Group.
Tim Dabell, North Yorkshire Council’s Event Management Officer, said:
“It’s lovely for the younger kids to come to the park with their parents and have additional attractions to enjoy during the Half Term Holidays.
“It’s the first time we have had a Land Train in the Valley Gardens and if it is a success we will look at more occasions in the future!”
The train is not the only attraction coming to Valley Gardens for half term.
There will be fairground rides for smaller children, as well as face painting and food stalls.
Tickets for the kids rides and activities can be purchased at the ticket booth next to the rides.
The Little Bird Artisan Market will also be returning to Valley Gardens on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June, with over 70 stalls offering a variety of arts, crafts and foods.
