Harrogate comedy gala raises more than £14,000 for Frank's Fund A comedy gala held at Harrogate Theatre has raised more than £14,000 for Frank’s Fund. Harrogate-born comedy star Maisie Adam performed at the Theatre last month alongside other famous faces including Jon Richardson. It was held on 9th October as part of Harrogate’s Comedy Festival. Frank’s Fund is a charity that was launched after St Aidan’s High School pupil Frank Ashton died of Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, in February 2019. And the gala has raised a total of £14,305. A spokesperson for Frank’s Fund said:
“Thank you to our brilliant patron Maisie Adam for organising the event (wow, we’re lucky to have you!) and to Lindsey Santoro, Jon Richardson and Ivo Graham for giving up their time to raise money for Frank’s Fund and make us all laugh - a lot! “Thank you too to Harrogate Theatre who couldn’t do enough for us and allowed us to use their beautiful space for the evening. “What a great way to remember Frank with one of his favourite things - comedy. “The money you raised will fund 477 hours of research into Ewing Sarcoma. “We can’t do this without you - please keep supporting Frank’s Fund until there’s a cure.”To donate to Frank’s Fund, visit: https://specialfunds.bcrt.org.uk/franks-fund/ Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
