A Harrogate animal charity has received a major boost after a local pet food company responded to its appeal for help.
Hurayra Pet Foods, a Yorkshire-based business specialising in ethically sourced, premium pet nutrition, has donated a year’s supply of its new dry cat food to Harrogate Cat Rescue.
The donation follows the charity’s call for support amid rising costs of caring for rescued cats.
Hurayra founder Aihtsham Rashid said:
“At Hurayra, our mission has always been to care for animals with compassion and quality.
"When we heard that the Harrogate Cat Rescue was struggling to meet demand, we knew we had to help.”
The company’s recently launched dry cat food range is now available in selected Morrisons stores nationwide and online through a subscription service.
It is formulated to provide complete and balanced nutrition, free from wheat, soy, and fillers, and is the only officially HMC Halal-registered pet food in the UK.
Celia Dakin, founder of Harrogate Cat Rescue, said:
“We’re very thankful for this donation by Hurayra. The donation will make a real difference to the health and happiness of the cats in our care, many of whom are awaiting new homes.
"Having access to such a high-quality food option is fantastic.”
Hurayra Pet Foods has also pledged to continue supporting the charity with monthly donations to assist with feeding cats both at the rescue centre and across its 50 foster homes.
