The annual Big Harrogate Sleepout is set to return for a third year in support of two local charities.
Residents and businesses are being invited to brave the elements and take part in the Sleepout event on Thursday 1st October.
Following the success of last year’s Sleepout – which raised an impressive £10,000 – this year’s event has already seen sign ups including Titan Wealth Management, Swinton Estate, the West Park Hotel and MJ Ryder.
The community event, created by Harrogate Spring Water in 2014, supports the Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP) and this year extends it support to partner directly with Saint Michael’s Hospice, who provide specialist end of life care and compassionate support.

Commenting on the impact of the Big Sleepout donations, Richard Cooper, Chief Executive from the Harrogate Homeless Project said:
“With so many businesses taking part, the Big Sleepout is a powerful demonstration of our collective will as a community to end rough sleeping.
"The funds we raise together don’t just help us put a roof over someone’s head.
"It means we can tackle the issues that make people homeless in the first place such as poor mental and physical health, addiction, unemployment and relationship breakdown.”
The Big Sleepout will take place at Harrogate Rugby Club and promises a fun, engaging evening hosted by the Your Harrogate team, featuring a welcome drink, dinner, a quiz and raffle, plus live entertainment from the Harrogate Barbershop Chorus.

"Events like this not only raise vital funds to support our patients and their families but also bring the community together in a powerful show of compassion and solidarity.
"Every pound raised will help us continue to provide specialist care when it’s needed most.”
Tickets are priced at £25 per person, making it the perfect opportunity for colleagues and friends to come together for a great night out.
Businesses are encouraged to put a team together and raise additional funds through sponsorship, helping our two chosen charities provide safe nights off the street for people experiencing homelessness and deliver vital specialist nursing care at the hospice.
