A new café promising a fully gluten-free menu is set to open in Harrogate.
Cafe Otto, which will be located on Oxford Street in the former Jojo Maman Bébé unit, is preparing to launch as what its owners describe as Harrogate’s first “totally gluten free” café bar.
Work is currently underway to renovate the site, although an official opening date has not yet been confirmed.
The venture is being led by Jonathan Skinner and fiancé Sara Ferguson, both of whom bring extensive experience in the hospitality sector.
Sara, who has worked in the industry in Harrogate for nearly 30 years, is said to be the driving force behind the café’s gluten-free concept. She is gluten intolerant and has close family members with coeliac disease, which has shaped the vision for the business.
Jonathan also has close to three decades of experience, primarily in supplying catering equipment and designing commercial kitchens.

The owners have been sharing updates on the renovation progress through the café’s Instagram account, @theottocafe, where early interest in the project has been building.
Further details, including the full menu and opening timeline, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
