The one-way system on Skipton Road in Harrogate is expected to remain in place until later this month, as construction work linked to the new Tesco store nears completion.
North Yorkshire Council has confirmed that the ongoing roadworks are on schedule, with full completion anticipated on or before Sunday 23rd November.
In an update, a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Council said:
"The road works associated with the new Tesco on Skipton Road are still on course to be completed on or before the 23rd November.
“The south side of the scheme will be fully surfaced by the 9th of November, resulting in the re-opening of Electric Avenue and Euclid Avenue on the 10th November.
“The layout of these junctions with Skipton Road will permit traffic to turn right in from Skipton Road and right out onto Skipton Road only until works are complete on the 23rd November.
“The one-way system will continue to operate in its current direction for the remaining duration of the scheme, with motorists using the south side of the carriageway from the 10th November."
The temporary one-way system has been in place for several months to allow road widening, resurfacing and utility works as part of the new supermarket’s construction.
Once the works are completed, normal two-way traffic is expected to resume along Skipton Road.
