The company behind iconic Harrogate tearoom Bettys has reported record sales of just under £300million.
Betty’s and Taylors Group, which also owns Yorkshire Tea, has seen a 14% increase in turnover to £295.7m in the year leading up to 31st October 2023.
This is up by £35.1m on the previous year.
The report also revealed profits for Taylors of Harrogate rose from £10.3m to £12.4m - a 20% increase.
And Yorkshire Tea has received a boost and is now the market leader, ending the year with a 36.7% share of black tea.
It outperformed rivals Twinings, Tetley and PG Tips in 2023.
Group Finance & Resources Director, Paul Cogan, said:
“We have much to be grateful for as our family business has continued to thrive despite the challenging conditions.
“When we started the year, we expected trading to be particularly tough, and we prepared ourselves to weather the storm of high inflation, unfavourable exchange rates and a cost of living crisis.
“It’s been a year when the creativity and agility of our people, the strength of our brands, and the loyalty of our customers have helped us deliver impressive results.”
The report said the firm had focused on “efficiency and operational effectiveness” to mitigate rising costs.
Despite the difficult trading environment, the group also added that popular Bettys tea rooms across Yorkshire “continued to delight customers.”
