Asda has officially reopened its Harrogate store on Bower Road following a £2 million refurbishment.
The transformation marks the first step in a wider £12 million investment across Yorkshire to modernise key locations.
The refreshed store features a brighter, more spacious layout with wider aisles, clearer signage and distinctly marked sections to make it easier for customers to navigate.
New feature lighting and modern signage aim to create a more inviting shopping environment, while several departments have been upgraded, including Fruit and Veg, Beer, Wines and Spirits, Bakery, Health and Beauty and George Home.

A special reopening event celebrated the completion of the works, featuring the slogan “Take a Fresh Look.”
Customers took part in activities such as “Spin the Wheel,” where three hampers and several George gift cards were won.
An Asda spokesperson said the event brought “a lot of fun” for those who attended and thanked everyone who contributed to the day.
Liz Evans, Asda’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:
“We’re so excited to welcome customers into our newly upgraded Harrogate store – the first to get an upgrade as part of our £12 million investment across Yorkshire and nearby areas.
"Asda started here 60 years ago, so putting money back into our home patch really means a lot to us. We want our stores to feel fresh, easy to shop, and full of great value for local families.
"This is just the start – we can’t wait to unveil more upgraded Yorkshire stores over the next few weeks.”
The Harrogate refurbishment forms part of Asda’s wider strategy to modernise stores across the region, with further upgrades planned in Grimsby and Stockton.
All improvements are expected to be completed by 1st December 2025.
