Your Harrogate and Fat Badger charity golf day returns
The Your Harrogate and Fat Badger golf day is set to return next month in aid of two local charities.
The inaugural charity golf day proved hugely successful last year, raising more than £12,000 for Henshaws and Horticap.
And the event will be returning to Oakdale Golf Club for a second year on Friday 19th April, with two more worthwhile charities set to benefit.
Money raised on the day will be split equally between Sporting Influence and Harrogate Neighbours.
Simon Cotton, Managing Director of HRH Group, which owns The Fat Badger, has helped organise the event.
He said:
“I love raising money for local charities, I love golf and I love providing great hospitality in a fun and entertaining environment, so putting on our very own Charity Golf Day with Your Harrogate Radio was an easy decision to make last year.
"Our first one went down amazingly well and despite it pouring with rain all day, everyone who attended, without exception, said it was one of the best golf days they'd been on so we had to bring it back again for a second year.
"I've been delighted with the response from everyone who's kindly supporting us by putting in a team; I just hope that this year, the weather will be a little kinder to us and it'll be the perfect day!"

“To raise more than £12,000 for two local charities was simply amazing – but we’re aiming to top it this year for two more fantastic causes.
“Hopefully we’re in for another day of fun – and let’s hope the weather is kind to us!”
A total of 22 teams are set to hit the course with a Texas Scramble format in place to include golfers of all abilities.
Teams are charged at £640 each, with proceeds set to be split equally between the two selected charities.
As well as competitive golf, there will also be a Gala dinner held at The Sky Bar at The Yorkshire Hotel, where a charity raffle and further fundraising opportunities will take place.
Your Harrogate will also be broadcasting live from the event on Friday 19th April, so tune in online, on DAB and on your smart speaker for all the latest from the course.
