Appeal to find missing Harrogate schnauzer Ozzy

Missing: Miniature schnauzer Ozzy.

An appeal has been launched to help locate a missing Harrogate dog.

Ozzy, a miniature schnauzer, was last seen on Coach Road heading in the direction of Hookstone Road at around 2.30pm on Thursday (6th August).

Those involved in the search are now asking residents in the area to check doorbell cameras and CCTV footage for any possible sightings.

K9 Search and Rescue has warned that Ozzy is frightened and may run away if approached, chased or called by name.

People who spot him are instead being asked to make a note of the location, time and direction of travel so sightings can be mapped and search teams can establish where he may be heading.

Anyone actively looking for Ozzy is also being encouraged to send a dropped pin of the location they have searched to help organisers coordinate the effort.

A spokesperson for K9 Search and Rescue said:

“We desperately need your help; if you see Ozzy please do not call his name or chase as he will be scared.

“Kindly contact us at K9 Search And Rescue so we may map all the sightings of Ozzy to quickly see where he may be.”

Owners are keen that people don’t shout ‘Ozzy!’ or try to grab him (for his safety), especially on roads or railway lines.

Anyone with information or a sighting of Ozzy is asked to call 07969129301, 07753 260917 or 07402 986209, providing the location, time and direction of travel where possible.
