Storm Babet is set to hit parts of the UK this week, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the Harrogate district.
Weather warning issued for Harrogate as Storm Babet looms The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Harrogate as the district braces itself for the impact of Storm Babet. Storm Babet will bring heavy rain and strong winds to parts of the UK this week, with the second named storm of the autumn predicted to cause significant and widespread disruption. The yellow weather warning for Harrogate is in place from 9pm on Wednesday (18th October) to 6am on Saturday (21st October). Heavy and more persistent rain is forecasted to hit the area on Thursday and Friday. The Met Office said:
"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings. "Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services. "Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures."It added:
"There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads.
