More than £7,000 has been raised for Oatlands Junior School following this year's Enchantica's Spring Ball in Harrogate.
The annual event took place at the Cedar Court Hotel and brought together families, friends and local supporters to raise funds for the school’s planned Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).
The evening featured entertainment, fundraising activities and an under-the-sea themed masquerade setting.
Headteacher Mrs Scarth opened the event and outlined the aims of the project.
She said:
“This space will be transformational for our children. It will provide a safe, inclusive area where pupils can be active, build confidence, and enjoy sport all year round. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to making this vision a reality.”
A range of prizes donated by local businesses and individuals were included in a live auction, hosted by hotelier Simon Cotton, who volunteered as master of ceremonies.
Auction items included a Forest School party experience, holiday accommodation, and Harrogate-based experiences such as a Morgan Clare fashion package and wellbeing events with Molton Brown, along with prizes from the Fat Badger Group.
Suzie Vaughan, Director of Enchantica’s, said:
“We are absolutely delighted with the success of this year’s Spring Ball. It has been a pleasure to work with the PTA and support their incredible efforts.
"To see so many people come together in support of Oatlands Junior School has been truly special. Every donation, prize, and bid has helped us take a significant step towards creating a fantastic MUGA space for the children.
"We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Cedar Court, our wonderful venue sponsor, for their generous support in helping us bring this event to life.”
A parent at the school, Sarah, added:
“I absolutely love this event – it’s such a fun night, and knowing it’s all for such a great cause makes it even more special.
"It’s amazing to see everyone come together and have such a brilliant time while supporting the school.”
Organisers said the event forms part of wider fundraising efforts to support improved outdoor sports and play facilities at the school.
Enchantica’s also offers a charity ball package in partnership with local hotels, aimed at helping schools and organisations deliver fundraising events.
The Spring Ball is held annually and organisers say it aims to combine themed event design with community fundraising initiatives.
