Harrogate's Hotel Chocolat café is set to open its own in-store bakery this month.
The chocolate expert has announced it will be adding “exciting” new bakery items to the menu at its James Street store.
They have been developed in-house and are based on dishes available at the Hotel Chocolat restaurant in Saint Lucia.
Items included ‘Hazelnut Crownie’ (a cross between a brownie and a cookie), Carrot Cake and Cacao Pod Pastry.
There will also be a range of savoury items, including pastries flavoured with Caribbean chicken curry, pulled pork and mushroom and ricotta.
The announcement comes from the new Hotel Chocolat owner Mars, who have revealed their store investment plans.
Velvetiser Cafés in Leeds Trinity and Leeds Springs are also getting the new bakery additions.
Ian Mackie, head of Velvetiser Café said:
“This launch represents a significant milestone for the Velvetiser Café, as we expand our offerings to include a diverse and delectable menu inspired by our commitment to quality and innovation
“Each item is crafted with care and precision, using the finest ingredients, sourced responsibly, reflecting our dedication to ethical and sustainable practices.”
Ian added:
“We cannot wait for our customers to experience the unique flavours and the exceptional quality that define Hotel Chocolat.”
Mars acquired Hotel Chocolat for £534 million in November 2023.
