A primary school near Harrogate has been recognised for its support of children born prematurely after receiving Prem Aware accreditation.
All Saints Primary School in Kirkby Overblow has officially been accredited as a Prem Aware School, becoming the second school within the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust to achieve the status.
The accreditation comes almost three years after North Rigton Primary School became the first school in the Trust to receive the recognition.
A Prem Aware School is recognised for its ability to understand, identify and support the unique needs of children born prematurely, helping to ensure they are able to thrive and succeed throughout their education.
Headteacher Sophia Gardiner said:
“We are all incredibly proud that All Saints has been accredited as a Prem Aware School — the second within the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust, following in North Rigton’s footsteps.
"This is a huge milestone for the school and demonstrates our commitment to inclusivity, as well as ensuring we have the tools to support all families who may have been impacted.”
The accreditation highlights All Saints Primary School’s ongoing commitment to inclusive practices and its dedication to supporting the wellbeing and development of every child and family within its community.
