Students at Harrogate Grammar School are celebrating another year of strong A-level results.
The school’s cohort of 294 students achieved 59 per cent of grades at A*-B, with more than a quarter of all grades awarded at A* or A.
A total of 27 students achieved four grades at A or A*, including six who secured four A* grades.
The results have seen students secure places at universities, higher and degree apprenticeships, college courses and employment, while others are taking gap years.
A total of 259 students – 88 per cent of the year group – applied to university.
Based on the information currently available to the school, more than 73 per cent of applicants have secured a place at their first-choice university, while 93 per cent have gained a university place overall.
Students will go on to study subjects including physiotherapy and other healthcare professions, humanities, law, social sciences, arts, drama, music, sciences, maths, languages, business and education.
Several students have also secured competitive degree apprenticeships with companies including Rolls-Royce, BDO, Grant Thornton and RSM.
Headteacher Neil Renton said:
“Today we not only celebrate such impressive results, but also a year group who embraced opportunities, supported one another, and demonstrated the ambition and resilience needed to succeed.
“Seeing so many students achieving exceptional outcomes and securing exciting next steps is a testament to their hard work and the unwavering support of their families and colleagues at HGS.”
Director of Sixth Form Ben Twitchin added:
“This cohort has been a pleasure to work with and today is a celebration of everything they have achieved.
“They challenged themselves, supported their peers and approached their studies with determination and maturity. We look forward to seeing all that they will achieve in the years ahead.”
The school has congratulated its students and thanked families and staff for their support throughout their time at Harrogate Grammar.
