Charitable Harrogate riders to cycle 600km to Paris

A team of cyclists will make the 600km journey to Paris.

A group of fourteen cyclists will be making the 600km trip to Paris later this month in an epic challenge for charity.

The team is made up of residents from North Rigton, Huby and Weeton, with ages ranging from 16 to 55.

Their epic ‘Yorkshire to Paris’ challenge is fundraising for St Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate where the journey will begin on 26th July - the first day of the 2024 Olympics.

The route, which will take them six days, will head through Hull before an overnight ferry to Rotterdam.

They'll then move through Belgium and Northern France before arriving in time to see Weeton’s own Lizzie Deignan compete.

Team member Christian Dickson said:

“We are raising money for St. Michael’s Hospice which does absolutely amazing work to provide palliative care for people of all ages who are suffering from terminal illnesses.

“All the staff and volunteers go above and beyond every day.

“We and St. Michael’s would be delighted if you could make a donation, however small. Your support will help us keep the pedals turning each day.”
