A talent pupil from Harrogate has been named the winner of a national art competition.
Ashville College student Breanne Loken progressed to the national Rotary Club competition after her artwork, ‘Kingfisher,’ was named the regional winner for Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the Humber.
The competition, organised and promoted by Rotary GB&I, was launched in the Autumn term of 2024, inviting artists under 17-years-old to create a piece of artwork based on the theme of ‘Wonderful Water’.
And Breanne’s Kingfisher artwork came out on top in the senior category after competing against 17 districts from across the UK.

Ann Percival of Rotary Club of Harrogate said:
“This is a brilliant result for Breanne, Ashville College, the sponsors, the judges and the Rotary Club of Harrogate.
“The Club will be presenting Breanne with the winner's trophy at a special presentation at Ashville College in the near future.
“It’s been a good year for Harrogate Rotary… especially the Youth!”
