It was a flippin’ good morning in Ripon for the city's annual Pancake Race yesterday (Tuesday).
Local schoolchildren and Ripon Cathedral’s clergy raced along Kirkgate whilst flipping pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
The annual event is organised by Rotary Club of Ripon Rowels and often draws large crowds.
And following a number of races, the winners have been announced.
The children’s race was won by Saint Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School, whilst Ripon YMCA won the adult’s race.
The teams have been awarded golden frying pan trophies.

A spokesperson for Rotary Club of Ripon Rowels said:
“Congratulations to our new champions and hope you like the new golden frying pan trophies which are making their way to you to commemorate the event and your achievement.”
They added:
“A huge thanks to all those who made the Ripon Pancake Race such a great event!
“Thank you to all you lovely people of Ripon and further afield for coming along and taking part.”
