Weather warning issued for strong winds in Harrogate

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds in the Harrogate district tomorrow (Thursday).

Weather warning issued for strong winds in Harrogate A yellow weather warning for strong winds has been issued for the Harrogate district tomorrow (Thursday). The Met Office has put the warning in place from midnight tonight until 12am tomorrow. Harrogate residents have been alerted to possible disruption to travel, including longer train and bus journeys. A spokesperson said:

"Strong winds are likely to affect a wide area through Thursday, potentially causing some travel disruption. "There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris and a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs. "There is also a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected and a small chance that some roads and bridges could close."
