Traditional carousel installed at Knaresborough Castle

A traditional carousel is now in place in Knaresborough.

A traditional 30-horse carousel has been installed at Knaresborough Castle for use throughout the summer.

The attraction, which costs £3 per ride, will offer visitors a nostalgic fairground experience in the castle grounds.

The vintage gallopers, which are over 60 years old, will be open to the public daily until Sunday 10th August.

This classic attraction is part of a wider summer celebration at the castle, coinciding with Yorkshire Day events and a family fun day organised by Little Bird Artisan Markets.

Little Bird Made will host a vibrant Yorkshire Day celebration at Knaresborough Castle tomorrow (Friday), continuing the festivities on Saturday and wrapping up on Sunday at Harrogate's Valley Gardens.

The event will over 60 feature artisan stalls, regional delicacies, handcrafted goods, games, live music, and family-friendly activities.

Visitors can enjoy the scenic castle grounds, relax in a picnic area, and take home unique Yorkshire-inspired art and gifts.

Jackie Crozier, managing director of Little Bird Made said:

"Yorkshire Day is a truly special occasion, and we are absolutely thrilled to be celebrating it in the beautiful location of Knaresborough Castle.

"We have curated a day that truly embodies the spirit of Yorkshire, offering a fantastic day out for you to get the family together or even spend time with friends as you visit this exciting and historic North Yorkshire town.

"So, come and join us for a day of fun, culture and community as we celebrate everything that makes Yorkshire great."
