Harrogate BID have announced the categories for this years Harrogate Dog Show.
The Harrogate Dog Show 2026 will take place on Saturday 11th April at the Victoria Shopping Centre Piazza.
Now in its sixth year, organisers say the event will bring together dog owners, families and visitors for a day celebrating dogs of all shapes and sizes.
Seven different competition categories will be open for entries throughout the day.
These include:
- Handsomest Dog
- Fanciest Female
- Cutest Puppy
- Best Purebred
- Best Crossbreed.
Dogs with particular talents will also be able to compete in the Best Trick category, while the Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home class will give judges the chance to reward the dog they feel stands out the most.
Operations Manager at Harrogate BID, Bethany Allen said:
“We are really excited to be bringing the Harrogate Dog Show back to the town centre for another year,” she said.
“The event has become a firm favourite in Harrogate’s events calendar and is always a fantastic day for families, dog owners and visitors to enjoy together.”
She added:
“With a range of categories to suit every type of dog, we’re looking forward to welcoming plenty of entrants and spectators for a great day in the town centre.”
Registration for the competition will open at 10am on the day, with judging expected to begin from 11am.
Entries will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and places in each category will be limited.
Alongside the competition, a dog-themed market will be held on Cambridge Street, organised by Real Markets.
The market will feature stalls selling treats, accessories and gifts for dogs and their owners.
The event is organised by Harrogate BID in association with Your Harrogate Radio and the Victoria Shopping Centre.
