Tractor Fest returns once again starting tomorrow (Saturday 8th June) and finishes on Sunday 9th June at 4pm.
Hundreds of vintage tractor and engine enthusiasts are gearing up for the biggest ever Tractor Fest 2024 which takes place this weekend (8th and 9th June) at Newby Hall, Ripon.
More than 2,000 exhibits have been entered for the two-day show including vintage and modern tractors, stationary engines, commercial vehicles, cars, trucks and motorcycles
This year’s theme is orange tractors.
Among them will be a 1938 orange Fordson owned by Jonathan Craske, 23, a member of the Yorkshire Vintage Association, organisers of Tractor Fest.
“I acquired the Fordson in December 2022 to refurbish and it’s been a complete renovation because it was a pile of bits when I got it,”
said Jonathan who works at tractor dealership Brockhills of Yorkshire.
He added,
“I’ve rebuilt it and got it working with the help of friends and family so it’s up and running and driveable. The last part of the renovation was to repaint it so it’s orange and shiny for Tractor Fest.”
Tractor Fest will also be marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day landings.
Joining the tribute to the armed forces and Ripon’s military heritage will be Ripon Community Poppy Project’s life-sized knitted tank which was 10 months in the making.
The tank is based on a Churchill AVRE tank used in the D-Day landings and measures 24ft (7.3m) long, 9ft (2.7m) wide and 7ft (2.1m) high.
Tractor Fest will also showcase harvesting and threshing machinery and an exhibition of vintage and modern European cars.
The event will include lots of entertainment for the family!
Admission includes access to Newby’s gardens, adventure playground, dolls house and teddy bear exhibitions.
Other fun activities for families over the weekend include mini tractor driving, face painting, colouring and interactive exhibits.
The event provides free parking, food and drink and dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
