The owner of Stump Cross Caverns near Pateley Bridge is set to release a new book.
Lisa Bowerman, known to visitors as ‘Cavewoman’, is working alongside ghost writer Chris Berry to release ‘Cavewoman: Down to Earth’ in Autumn.
It will detail the story of Stump Cross Caverns, its history and the family behind it, as well as plans for the extension of the caves.
Lisa said:
“It’s been a pleasure to welcome you all and share the wonders of this incredible place that I am so lucky to call home. Thank you all so much for visiting these magical caves this summer!
“In the book, you’ll also get to meet my fiancé Nick, my rock, and my son Oliver, who is taking over the business as the second generation. He’s planning to extend the caves for the first time in 25 years - exciting times ahead!”
Lisa added:
“Our family has spent the past 21 years here, with my children growing up right on this very hill—true troglodytes in every sense! Their childhood memories are filled with the echoes of the caves and the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales.”
Ahead of the book’s release, Lisa has asked Stump Cross visitors to share their photos of the caves for the chance to win £100.
The best photos will feature in the new book. Find out more about the competition via Facebook here.
