A yellow weather warning for snow has been issued for Harrogate as Storm Goretti brings colder conditions across parts of the UK.
The warning, issued by the Met Office, is in place from 5pm today (Thursday) until 12pm tomorrow (Friday).
During this period, light snow showers are expected to affect parts of North Yorkshire.
Forecasters say there is a chance of disruption to travel, particularly on higher ground, with icy conditions also possible as temperatures drop overnight.
Some roads and pavements may become slippery, and bus or train services could experience delays.
The Met Office notes that weather conditions may vary significantly over short distances, with some places seeing little impact while others experience heavier snow showers.
The yellow warning indicates that while severe weather is not certain, it is possible and may cause some disruption if it occurs.
