St Aidan's CE High School has been ranked among the leading sporting schools in the country.
The Harrogate school has secured 24th place in the Top 200 Sporting Schools of 2025, published by School Sport Magazine.
The annual rankings assess schools’ performance across more than 20 different sports and over 120 national competitions, making them one of the most comprehensive measures of school sporting achievement in the UK.

Within the state sector, St Aidan’s placed 5th nationally, highlighting the breadth and consistency of its sporting success.
Headteacher Sian Dover added:
“At St. Aidan’s we strive to ensure that all our students flourish, breaking down any barrier to allow every individual to experience ‘life in all its fullness’.
"Our fully inclusive St. Aidan’s Offer is given the time and status it deserves to support us in achieving such an incredible outcome”.
The result reflects the achievements of students across a wide range of disciplines, supported by a highly committed PE department and key members of staff.

Their work includes coaching, organisation and supervision across evenings, weekends, fixtures, training sessions and national competitions, enabling pupils to compete at a high level while remaining inclusive and accessible.
John Strover, Director of Learning: Health and Wellbeing, said:
"This recognition is something our entire school community can be incredibly proud of.
"It highlights the strength of our extracurricular programme, known as The St Aidan’s Offer, the culture of participation we have built, and the professionalism of the staff who work so hard behind the scenes."
St Aidan’s Church of England High School is part of the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust and continues to promote both competitive success and participation in sport.
