Ripon Museums are set to unveil a new summer trail, inviting families to send their children back to the workhouse during the school holidays.
Starting on 20th July and running until 2nd September, the trail is included with the purchase price of a standard museum ticket.
The museums will be open seven days a week, with tickets valid for 12 months for unlimited return visits.
The announcement follows the introduction of a new management team, led by the recently appointed Director of Museums, Alexa Vernon, and new Chair, Robert Ling.
The summer trail marks the beginning of the new visitor engagement program under her direction.
It will run across the three heritage museums: Workhouse & Gardens, Courthouse and Prison & Police Museum.

Children of all ages can journey through six herb themed challenges, discovering more about life in Victorian Yorkshire.
The herb theme connects visitors with nature and history.
It stems from the Workhouses own Victorian kitchen garden which has been lovingly restored by a dedicated team of volunteers.
The trail connects many aspects of the museum with learning about the medicinal benefits of herbs, gardening tips and sustainable practices used to maintain Victorian heritage species.
It has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
