Provenance Collection has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director after selling three venues from its North Yorkshire portfolio.
The hospitality group confirmed that The Black Bull at Moulton, The Punch Bowl at Marton-cum-Grafton and The Cleveland Tontine near Northallerton are no longer part of the collection.
The company says the move will allow it to focus investment and future growth plans on its remaining venues across North Yorkshire.
Anthony Blundell will formally take on the role of Managing Director from this month.
He said:
“This is a hugely important and positive step forward for Provenance Collection.
"By refining our portfolio, we are now able to focus our efforts and investment on the sites which best represent the future vision of the business, whilst continuing to improve them as exceptional places to visit, stay and work.”
The announcement comes as current Managing Director Peter Grazier continues treatment for Leukaemia.
Anthony added:
“Over the last three years Peter has been an incredible mentor to me personally and professionally.
"With Peter’s agreement, I will formally assume the Managing Director role from June whilst Peter focuses on his recovery.”
Peter Grazier said:
“I am delighted to hand over the Managing Director role to Anthony, supported by Dan Burkitt, Head of Operations, and Amanda Gillis, Head of Finance.
"I know our teams, partners and guests will support - and benefit from - a fresh, younger approach.
"Whilst these are not the circumstances we had originally planned for, in life you play the hand you are dealt.
I remain fully supportive of the business and look forward to continuing my involvement in a non-executive capacity as a critical friend to the team as soon as I am able to do so.”
Founder and Chairman Chris Blundell said:

Provenance Collection says it will continue investing in its remaining venues, with improvements planned across guest experiences, food and drink offerings, accommodation and operational standards.
