A brand new wine bar and shop is set to open its doors in Harrogate town centre this weekend.
Wine merchants Ake & Humphris have announced the opening date of their highly-anticipated Oxford Street store will be this Sunday (14th December).
A special preview event will be held on Saturday (13th December), featuring a champagne reception and a wine and cheese tasting.
Ake & Humphris is based on Leeds Road and first opened in 2010.
Tara Stagman, director at Ake and Humphris, said:
“We’re really excited to be adding to our local offering with a new town centre location for people to shop and to enjoy our wines and whiskies by the glass, as well as local beers on tap.
"As well as our existing stores on Leeds Road, Harrogate and Collingham, our new wine bar and shop will soon be open on Oxford Street in the centre of Harrogate. We can't wait to pull back the curtains finally and invite you in!"
She added:
"This is no ordinary place! Think Oscar Wilde's secret wine library; from upcycled 1920's wardrobes to an eccentric chandelier made from antique copper wine funnels and an old school theatre ladder we'll be using to access the top shelf wines and whiskies!
"There will be plenty to see, superb wines and whiskies to enjoy, (as well as great local beer on tap) and the warmest welcome guaranteed."
Following a significant refurbishment, the new bar and shop will be open from 10am until 10pm daily throughout December.
Aimee Binfield will be managing the bar with help from Danni, Nichola and George during the Christmas period.
