Netflix horror hit is coming to Harrogate Theatre

The Haunting of Hill House is coming to Harrogate Theatre.

A chilling novel that was adapted into a popular Netflix series is coming to Harrogate Theatre next month.

The Haunting of Hill House, written by Shirley Jackson and adapted for the stage by F Andrew Leslie, will be at Harrogate Theatre from Thursday 17th until Saturday 19th October.

The new adaptation of the award-winning horror novel is being put on by Harrogate Dramatic Society.

It’s already been reimagined as a series that was watched by millions on Netflix, but also as two films - one in 1963 and another in 1999 starring Liam Neeson and Catherine Zeta Jones.

The story surrounds a gothic mansion, which is visited by a paranormal investigator, Dr Montague, a young woman and her disabled mother and the young heir to Hill House.

All four characters experience paranormal events.

A spokesperson for the event said:

“Dr Montague and others, delve into the morbid history of Hill House fighting occult forces that have made it uninhabitable for many years, finally goading evil to a fatal fury.”
