Last chance to donate to Harrogate chocolate appeal

Commercial Street's Chocolate Appeal is now in its fourth year.

A Harrogate street full of independent shops is urging residents to donate to its annual chocolate appeal.

Now in its fourth year, Commercial Street’s Chocolate Appeal sees sweet treats donated to elderly, sick and disabled people - as well as families escaping domestic abuse - with the aim of spreading chocolate joy this Christmas.

It’s organised by Sue from Lilly’s Cafe and Tony from Curtain & Blind Design.

The campaign is also fundraising for New Beginnings, Disability Action Yorkshire, Supporting Older People and Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity.

The shops are collecting donations of chocolate or cash until 15th December before distributing to the chosen charities and people in need.

Residents are being invited to drop off their donations at Lilly's Cafe, Curtain & Blind, Harrogate Town AFC or White Rose Sewing.

The Commercial Street Retailers Group welcomes donations of all types of chocolate in all shapes, sizes and packages – whether as individual chocolate bars, boxes of biscuits or large tubs.
