The EFL has presenting Harrogate Town with the bronze standard award for its commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I).
Harrogate Town given bronze award for equality, diversity and inclusion Harrogate Town has been recognised for its ongoing commitment and dedication to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I). The EFL has presented Harrogate Town with the Bronze standard award, as part of the EFL Equality Code of Practice (CoP). The award is a result of the club’s ED&I work that has been accomplished by submitting evidence from all aspects of the club’s structures including our colleagues, Community Foundation, players, and supporters. Speaking about the award our HR/EDI Manager, Ericka Williams said:
"As someone who has been involved in the club's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion journey, I am extremely proud of all the hard work that has been achieved in obtaining the Bronze Standard. "From providing ED&I education to players and colleagues within our Academy, breathing the Equality Policy along with other numerous policies and procedures to life, to the creation of our sensory packs, and the building of newpartnerships are considerable accomplishments. "This is only the beginning of our ED&I journey, and we look forward to growing even more inclusive for our workforce and supporters."EFL Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, David McArdle, said:
“Our 72 Clubs represent communities of people from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds. "The EFL’s Code of Practice is the foundation on which our work on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is built, providing Clubs with a clear framework, and setting out exactly what they need to put in place to ensure the Club is reflective of the community at all levels. “We are really pleased to announce the first set of Clubs to receive their awards. The progress being made is very encouraging and the EFL will continue to support and empower all Clubs to make a positive impact on their communities and the wider game.”Initially launched in 2012, the EFL’s Equality Code of Practice was revamped to become a multi-level accreditation scheme at the start of the 2022/23 season, which will see every one of the 72 Clubs assessed on their EDI practices by the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
