21-year-old Abi Kempley from Harrogate has reached the Masterchef semi final after continuing to wow judges.
In Friday night's quarter final, Abi competed with eight other contestants in the canape challenge.
The challenge involved cooking canapes, which could be sweet or savoury.
With 1 hour and 45 minutes to finish the challenge, Abi created a steak tartare with confit quail’s egg yolk and horseradish mayonnaise on a nigella seed cracker.
Speaking about her dish, Masterchef judge John Torode said:
“The cracker is fantastic. They are slightly salty, which I really like."
Abi spoke on what making it through to the next round would mean to her. She said:
“It would mean a tonne to get through to the semi-finals, big bragging rights but, yeah, don’t know if that’s going to happen.”
Despite remarking that she felt her presentation fell short, Abi made it through to the semi finals.
She is now one of the last six in this year’s competition.
She will return to our TV screens on tomorrow (Tuesday 14th May) at 8pm on BBC One.
