The Harrogate Ghost Walk will investigate the Empress on the Stray - an 18th century hotel said to be rife with paranormal activity.
Harrogate Ghost walk to investigate 18th century hotel A Harrogate Ghost Walk is set to give participants exclusive access to an 18th Century hotel said to be rife with paranormal activity. The Empress on the Stray has granted access to the ghost walk for an event on Saturday 7th October. The hotel was built in the 18th Century and stands today as a Grade II listed building. Prior to the hotel's construction, it is believed there was a farm on the site dating back to the 16th Century. The event will run from 9:30pm on Saturday until 1:30am the following morning. A spokesperson for the event teased:
“The building is very haunted with paranormal activity taking place at all hours of the day and night. “A large amount of poltergeist activity has been reported with knives being thrown and objects moved, only to reappear later. “A figure has been seen watching people from a room which has never been opened and remains locked.”The event is lead by local paranormalist Paul Forster who runs the Harrogate Ghost Walk. Paul has partnered with Angelic Forces in order to deliver some of the most unique ghost hunts in Yorkshire. As part of the experience, visitors will spend time with psychics and mediums and will have the opportunity to use professional ghost-hunting equipment and take part in paranormal experiments.
