Harrogate’s fourth annual dog show attracted thousands to the town centre, new data has shown.
The event was held on the Piazza area of the Victoria Shopping Centre on Saturday (April 12th), organised by Harrogate BID.
Special guest judge Amanda Owen, The Yorkshire Shepherdess, was back to judge participants as Greater Swiss Mountain Dog ‘Sully’ took home the Best in Show prize.
And figures calculated at the Victoria Shopping Centre show that more than 15,000 passed through the centre and the Dog Show on the day, with the peak footfall recorded between 12pm and 4pm.
Meanwhile, figures from the BID’s data partners at HUQ show that the total footfall in the BID area on the day of the Dog Show was just over 48,000 – an increase of 36% on the total footfall during the Dog Show held in 2024.

“We were absolutely delighted to deliver another hugely successful Harrogate Dog Show – and we brought in our biggest crowds yet!
“The weather really was on our side with a full day of sunshine, which helped to make the show all the more enjoyable for local businesses, residents and visitors to our town!

Categories saw dogs and their owners showing off their best tricks, their best puppy dog eyes and Amanda even selected the dog she would most like to take back to the renowned Ravenseat Farm with her and her family.
And for the first time, the Harrogate Dog Show included a pet-themed market held along Cambridge Street.
Traders selling all of your pet essentials, organic products, crafting stalls, animal treats and branded merchandise lined the street throughout the show.
Roaming street performers provided entertainment throughout the day, with the ‘Dog Wardens’ ranking and grading all of the owners and their furry friends that took part in the show.
