Harrogate favourite The Cheeseboard is set to relocate next week - but it won't be moving far.
Owner Gemma Aykroyd is moving the shop to 30 Commercial Street, next to Harrogate Town's club shop, and will open on Monday (12th January).
The premises will be larger than the current residence with an outside veranda.
Gemma Aykroyd took over the business in 2000 as the fourth running owner.
She told Your Harrogate:
"I didn't want to move away from Commercial Street as it has such a strong sense of community and the independent shops in Harrogate are really second to none."
Gemma added:
"It feels like a perfect time for an exciting new chapter. When the opportunity came up to move premises, I couldn’t say no.
"We’re heading to a bigger, brighter space with plans for outdoor seating and (eventually) delicious cheese and wine platters".
The shop has a glowing reputation and is known for its extensive selection of local and international cheeses.
After taking over the shop, Gemma focused on sourcing cheeses from around the world, as well as working with local producers and wholesalers, offering everything from Yorkshire cheeses to French and Italian varieties.
The shop currently stocks over 200 types of specialty cheeses.
Gemma shared her thanks to her customers:
"Thank you so much to all our loyal customers for your continued support, some of you have even offered to help with the move, which means the world.
"I can’t wait to get started on this next adventure and share it with you all."
