A fundraising campaign to support a Harrogate football coach has been launched after surgery left her partially paralysed.
Jules Hodson, a coach at Harrogate Railway Ladies, underwent spinal surgery in June for an existing condition - but complications saw her sustain further damage to her spinal cord.
The 47-year-old was hospitalised for almost four months as a result.
She was recently discharged but has been left unable to walk unassisted and requires daily visits from carers and district nurses.
A fundraising campaign has been launched by Jules’ friend Anna Sealby, with the aim of funding private physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Anna said:
“This ordeal hasn't stopped Jules from getting to her beloved Harrogate Railway to shout orders from the sidelines, or to have a beer, but hopefully that, and life in general can be made a little easier with our efforts here.”
Anna added:
“Our main goal with the fundraising is to help fund some private physiotherapy and rehabilitation as the next twelve months or so will be crucial to the long term outcome.
“It would also be used to go towards things that might help to make life easier for both Jules and her girls while she continues her recovery.”
