Liam Williams from Jennyfield Fisheries has made the top 10 for the ‘Employee of the Year’ award at the National Fish and Chip Awards in 2024.
Employee at Harrogate chippie shortlisted for national award An employee at a Harrogate fish and chip shop has been shortlisted for a national award. Liam Williams from Jennyfield Fisheries has made the top 10 for the ‘Employee of the Year’ award at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2024. He will be subject to a judging process from an expert panel, who will analyse the finalists’ industry knowledge, work ethic and customer service skills. The Fish and Chip Awards aim to champion small businesses in local communities. Employers’ investment into skills development is a key ingredient for helping team members serve up the best experience for fish and chip diners, as well as furthering their personal career progression in the industry. Awards organiser Andrew Cook, who is also the President of the National Federation of Fish Friers, said:
“The greatest asset any chip shop, or business, could ever have is its people and we have received a fantastic amount of nominations for individuals who are setting the bar sky high and blazing a fantastic trail for others. “It’s so exciting for us to see how passionate these professionals are for the industry and how much their careers mean to them, as well as the customers they serve.”The Employee of the Year is a new category that will launch at the awards next year for the first time.
