Graffiti has appeared on another popular Ripon attraction, with vandals targeting the walls at Ripon Workhouse Museum.
It happened on Wednesday (5th March), despite efforts locally to dissuade antisocial behaviour.
It follows an appeal last month after vandals painted graffiti at both Fountains Abbey and St Mary's Church.
A police spokesperson said:
“This area is sacred ground and was redeveloped to provide a pleasant and safe location in the town centre for a rest and to enjoy.
“We are currently seeking advice on whether this is a listed building to know how best to remove it and at what expense.”
