In this episode of the Your Harrogate podcast, Pete Egerton speaks to the chairman of St Wilfrid's procession, Antony Prince. The day is an ancient tradition that takes place at the end of July or the beginning of August in Ripon. St Wilfrid is buried within Ripon Cathedral and will be remembered once again this Saturday, 29th July 2023, with a procession leaving the Studley Road at 1:45PM. The route takes the floats around the border of where Ripon used to be, when it was a much smaller city. The day is a huge celebration with not only the procession, but also a short service at Ripon Cathedral, live music throughout, prizes awarded to those who take part and the partying will continue into the night.
