Yorkshire’s own superhero Yorkshire-Man will be jumping into a giant Yorkshire Pudding filled with gravy as part of the Yorkshire Day celebrations at York Maze on Thursday 1st August.
The giant Yorkshire Pudding is over 6ft in diameter and holds 2000 litres of gravy!
York Maze owner Tom Pearcy said,
“With an ey up and away, Yorkshire-Man will be leaping into the giant Yorkshire Pudding filled with gravy, we’re advising spectators to stand well back lest they get a good dousing in gravy too!”
Yorkshire Day celebrations at York Maze will start at 1 pm with the traditional Yorkshire Pudding tossing competition.
The child and adult with the biggest throws will be crowned winners.
Then at 2.30pm as the finale to the Yorkshire Day celebrations Yorkshire-Man, clad in his traditional yellow and green lycra suit and flat cap, will be leaping into the giant Yorkshire Pudding filled with gravy!
The York Maze staff will be wearing flat caps, and everyone visiting York Maze on Yorkshire Day wearing a flat cap will be offered a complimentary mug of freshly brewed Yorkshire Tea!
Yorkshire Pudding wraps will be available from the Fodder Barn.
The New York Brass Band will entertain the crowds with their mix of contemporary tunes and Yorkshire favourites, and there will even be a face painter to emblazon cheeks with the Yorkshire Rose.
